British Airways Cancellation Policy

British Airways is prominent for providing a flexible cancellation policy for its passengers. The passengers have the full right to cancel any flight anytime. But the more early a flight is cancelled, the less has to be paid.

• The passenger has the right to cancel both refundable and non-refundable tickets of any class (Business or economy). Moreover, flight cancellation within 24 hours of booking is free from cancellation charges.

• But, flight cancellation made after 24 hours of booking is subjected to a cancellation fee of 125$ for domestic flights and 450$ for international flights. However, cancellation charges in the case of business class are slightly more than in other classes.

• No cancellation charges will be imposed if the passenger cancels the flight due to family bereavement or illness reasons provided that relevant documents must be submitted.

(Note: British airways' booking can be cancelled a maximum of up to 3 hours before the departure. No cancellation of the flight is allowed after this time except in bereavement or illness cases.)

The cancellation must be made from the original point of purchase. If the booking was made online, the flight must be cancelled online. If the flight was booked via a travel agent or on phone, then the cancellation must be done on phone or by contacting the travel agent.

Steps to cancel British airways flight ticket:

• Browse the British airways’ official website or download the British Airways app from the Play store
• Login to your account if you are a frequent passenger or directly click on Manage my Trips and submit the booking number and passenger last name.
• Now, view the booking details and click on the cancel link
• Check the details, view the cancellation charges (if any) carefully and press continue.
• Thereafter, check for a confirmation message on the registered mobile number or email
• If you didn't receive any cancellation update, contact the British airways customer support number.
• At last, you need to fill the refund form to place a refund request.

British Airways Refund Policy

According to the British airways refund policy, passengers are entitled to get a full refund within 24 hours of purchase on refundable fare. After 24 hours, a refund will be provided after deducting the cancellation fee. In the case of non-refundable fares, only the tax amount will be refunded but YQ will not be refunded.

If the passengers possess a combination of refundable and non-refundable fares, then the most restrictive rule will be applicable and such tickets will be considered non-refundable.

For a partially used ticket, the unused part of the ticket minus applicable charges and taxes will be refunded to the passenger.

(Note: If British airways cancel the flight due to COVID, the passenger will be provided with a Voucher which can be claimed for travel up till 30 April 2023 or if the refund request has been placed already, then a refund will be processed in maximum 30 days.
